We’re approaching the halfway point of the NBA season, and the fight for the NBA Most Valuable Player award is between two former colleagues. Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors are the two players in question.
Durant is on track to have one of the most productive seasons ever in the NBA. KD is averaging 28.6 points per game while shooting 56.7 percent from the field through 16 games. He has guided the Nets to an 11-5 record, tying them for first place in the Eastern Conference with the Miami Heat. Curry is also a terrific performer. He leads the league with 29.5 points per game and has guided Golden State to the best record in the NBA with a 13-2 record.

Dwyane Wade Speaks Out on the Kevin Durant vs. Steph Curry Controversy
Curry and KD have transitioned from enemies to teammates to rivals again. The two future Hall of Famers met three times in the NBA Finals, capturing back-to-back championships in 2017 and 2018. Dwyane Wade, a Hall of Famer and Miami Heat veteran, would rather start a team with Curry than Durant, despite the fact that Durant earned the Finals Most Valuable Player award for the two championships he and Curry won together.
During a recent interview on the “Dan Patrick Show,” Wade remarked of who he would choose to start a team with, “I’m going to go with Steph.” “I think I went with Steph since she’s completely changed the sport.” In the sense of revolutionizing the game the way he has, he’s one of those Mount Rushmores.”

Kevin Durant is a big fan of Steph Curry.
Durant and Curry recently squared off in the first of two regular-season games between the Nets and Warriors this season. Despite the fact that the Nets were blasted out by Steph and the Warriors 117-99, Durant praised his former colleague after the game.
“I’ve been saying that since he came into the league: he’s a master at what he does.” “Just a savvy guy that can pretty much do everything off the ball, can cut to the rim, make floaters, hit 3s, and can handle the basketball and get down to his position,” Durant said after the defeat to reporters via “NBC Sports.”
“I’ve been there before.” He has put in a lot of effort, he is passionate about the game, he loves his teammates, and he plays with vigor. As a guy like that, playing at the All-Star, MVP, and Hall of Fame level, you get it every night. It’s something you’ve got to respect.”
The Nets have had a bit of an up and down season. On some nights, they seem to be the greatest team in the NBA, but on others, they appear to be on the verge of missing the playoffs. However, this is all part of the bumps and bruises that come with an 82-game season.
The fact for the Nets is that their present situation isn’t all that dreadful. Despite James Harden being a shadow of his former self and Kyrie Irving being unavailable, they remain one of the greatest teams in the NBA. From here, they can only go up.
