The last episode of Murder Island aired today, and the surviving pair of Sarah and Richmond presented their evidence to the prosecutor — with great results.
The six-part series, scripted by Ian Rankin, hooked viewers in with its innovative concept, which sent teams of amateur detectives to a remote Scottish island to investigate a fake murder.
Charly Hendricks, a lady who had just relocated to the island and rapidly developed a lot of enemies, was the victim, with viewers realizing she was having a love involvement with a local merchant, Jean.
Sarah and Richmond grilled the two major suspects of Ishbel and her son Logan on whether they were involved for the crime in tonight’s closing episode.
After a long period of interrogation with the mother-and-son combo, they got to the conclusion that Ishbel was the one who committed the murder after putting together new evidence.
Despite the fact that some onlookers were confident there would be a last-minute surprise, Sarah and Richmond were proven accurate, and they walked away with £50,000.

As a result, it’s not surprising that fans have mixed feelings about the ending, with some praising it and others calling it ‘underwhelming.’
Many others praised the program, with one tweeting, “Absolutely enjoyed #MurderIsland.” ‘Congratulations, Sarah and Richmond; I was hoping you’d win since you were both outstanding from beginning to end.’
‘Well done Sarah and Richmond on finding the crime and winning £50,000 on #murderisland It’s been a compelling series @Channel4,’ tweeted another.

‘I’m ecstatic that they succeeded! I had a lot more fun with this than I anticipated #murderisland.’ A third agreement was reached.
‘Well, it was a fantastic couple weeks television imho,’ said another admirer of the show. #murderisland has a fantastic conclusion.’
Others, on the other hand, believed they had predicted the outcome far earlier in the series, calling the finale ‘anticlimactic.’

‘Well, it was a disappointing finish,’ one remarked. #MurderIsland has circumstantial evidence and a confession made without the presence of a lawyer.’
‘How dreadfully anticlimactic… Halfway through the series, they effectively accused/guessed the perpetrator. Another user added the hashtag #murderisland.
‘Very anti-climatic result #MurderIsland was expecting for a dramatic shock,’ one person said, while another added, ‘#MurderIsland was very lackluster.’
Sarah and Richmond had said earlier in the program how much it would mean to them to win the reward money and solve the case.
They said that their relationship had previously been tumultuous, and that they intended to utilize the money to improve their daughter’s future.
‘The effect it would have on our lives and our families’ lives would be totally life-changing,’ Sarah remarked.
Channel 4 has further information.
It seemed to be a toss-up whether they’d be able to stack all of the evidence against Ishbel after eliminating Logan thanks to a fresh alibi, but they pulled it out of the bag right at the end.
‘People who look like me aren’t supposed to be solving crimes,’ Richmond said following their victory. ‘I’ve learned so much in such a short period of time.’
Murder Island is now available to watch in its entirety on All 4.
